Celebrating Independent Operators Across WNY

Restaurant Weeks have taken off across the country. But it would be hard to find a region more successful than Western New York, where the promotion has exploded from 60 operators in spring 2009 to over 200 this past spring.

History

Mike Andrezjewski does not like to sit around. In the tumultuous winter of 2009, Andrezjewski decided the time had come for Western New York to embrace the concept of Local Restaurant Week.

He contacted Peter Longo, of the WNY Chapter of the New York State Restaurant Association, who along with Daniel Garvey, treasurer of the New York State Restaurant Association quickly mobilized the local food service community to support the idea.

The team partnered with Vincent McConeghy & Jennifer Lingenfelter of LocalFoodService.com, an online Community & Marketplace for WNY Food Service Professionals to facilitate bringing Local Restaurant Week to life.

The team has five events under their belts and are excited to bring you another successful Local Restaurant Week!
